Q: How does AAU basketball compare to travel team basketball?
A:  The AAU program is much more competitive than a travel team because it involves kids from different
communities playing on the same team resulting in a better talent pool. A Travel team consist of teams from one
town playing teams from other towns.  AAU is also a bigger time commitment with 2 practices during the week and
tournaments on the weekends.

Q: How long is the AAU season?
A: The AAU season runs from April to the middle of June. (Practices start in March)
If your team qualifies for the Nationals or plays in additional tournaments then the season may be extended.

After the teams are selected

Q: When do we receive a schedule?
A: You will receive a tentative season schedule to let you know which weekend tournaments the teams will be
entered into.
We do not find out the game
times until a few days before the tournament.
(All tournaments are open for teams to enter until usually the Tuesday before.
They then make up the schedules and post them Wed. or Thurs.)

Q: When do I have to make payment for playing on the AAU Team?
A: All payment arrangements are made after the team selection and prior to the first practice.
